The 8113 is a rugged 6-Inch boot, featuring premium Hawthorne Muleskinner leather, chrome hardware, speed hooks, Goodyear welt construction and triple stitched quality. Its double layer leather toe cap, leather heel pocket and Cork outsole make it a favourite.
Roughout leather is created using a reverse-suede technique at Red Wing's very own S.B. Foot Tanning Co. While most tanneries split, thin and weaken the hide to create the rough suede surface, RW simply use the other side of the hide. By doing so, they avoid splitting or thinning our full-grain hides. This makes their Roughout leather just as strong and durable as Red Wing's other leathers.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE
The local residents of the Mesabi Iron Range in northern Minnesota are proudly known as Iron Rangers due to their rugged toughness. The Iron Ranger work boots were built for iron miners in this region who required a double layer of leather over the toe for extra safety. It’s tough and elegant all at once.
